Student Ombudsman

Lisbon Polytechnic has a Student Ombudsman provided for by law. The Student Ombudsman is an independent organ of Lisbon Polytechnic, and has the function of hearing students ' complaints on pedagogical, administrative and social action matters, as well as drawing up necessary recommendations to prevent and repair illegalities or injustices, and to refer them to the competent bodies.

The activities of the Student Ombudsman operate in accordance with the Pedagogical Councils of the organic units, Students Associations and Social Action Services. The Student Ombudsman is elected for 4 years by the General Council on a proposal from the Academic Federation of IPL, from among personalities who are not actually exercising any role in the institution.
