Language Skills

The frequency of any of the graduate and master's study cycles at the Polytechnic of Lisbon requires an independent domain of the Portuguese language (level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

International applicants who possess only a field of Portuguese language, or other language in which education is taught, equivalent to the B1 level, according to the QECRL, may apply for the present access competition, provided that they commit to attending a Portuguese language course, or another language in which the teaching is taught, by staying the confirmation of enrollment in the organic unit dependent on obtaining the B2 level of that language.

If the candidate has as a mother tongue the Portuguese and as a condition of access, a Portuguese secondary school diploma or a legally equivalent habilitation diploma to this past in Portuguese, he is exempted from demonstrating the knowledge of this language.

The CLIC IPL-Centre for Language and Culture of the Polytechnic of Lisbon organizes Portuguese Language courses in two modalities: intensive course to be held before the start of the semester or normal course to be carried out during the semester implying the frequency of the course the annuity payment
