Luís Miguel Fonseca was born in Lisboa. Studied film at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, editing and screenwriting. Worked as an assistant director and script supervisor in several films throughout more than a decade. Co-founded the production company Contracosta Produções in the mid-nineties, where he produced and directed shorts, documentaries and features. Was also a co-founder of the theatre company Casa Conveniente and the association Zona Não Vigiada where he also produced, translated, wrote and directed plays and, on occasion, acted in a couple of them. Wrote and translated plays for Comuna - Teatro de Pesquisa. Has been a teacher at ESTC since 2005, teaching in both the Theatre and the Film departments.
